MALABAR – Two Masted Scale Schooner

 During the first 100 years of Yachting, the United States has been blessed with some premier yacht designers. I personally have come to love the designs of Steers, Herreshoff, Alden and Stevens. Needless to say the Malabar series of sailing craft came from one of these designers and has become a tradition in sailing schooners. The basis for this model was developed from the plans of the real schooner by Lloyd (Swede) Johnson, a west coast modeler who obtained a great deal of fame for his US 1 meter class model racing yachts. Based on Swedes model a hull plug was made and turned into a fiberglass mold.
